Things I love

The Gratitude Collection #2

August 19, 2016

I’m so grateful for learning and knowledge this week. It has been one of those weeks where my head has been filled with so many new things and ideas and if I had you over for a cuppa right now, I’m sure I’d be spilling the beans on everything I’ve learned.

This week I managed to finish two books – one a short one about Depression. (You can read my book review here) and our current book club book “When People are Big and God is Small” by Ed Welch. These two titles are a must read for any Christian. I loved both books immensely, and the Ed Welch one, which was a little heavy going at times finished on a high note with the last two chapters being the most practical.

On Wednesday I went to a workshop entitled “The Wasteless Pantry” at my local library. Wow, it was such a great workshop with so many really useful tips and hints that you could easily work into your daily life. The idea is to cut down on the waste that come out of our kitchens, as in Australia the statistics show that for every five bags of groceries that you bring into your house, you may as well throw one straight in the garbage! STAGGERING! I have been given permission to share a few of the great things I learned with you all here, so stay tuned.. that will be coming next week!

My Paigey Poo has been home sick for the past few days. This kid lives and breathes knowledge and learning, so to keep her brain occupied I wrote a few general knowledge questions on cards and she had the job of finding the answers to using books in the house, with the last resort being the iPad. Some were “Who was Pythagoras and what mathematical theory did he invent?” and “Name twenty countries that have stars on their flags.” Do you have any good general knowledge questions I could add to her cards?

So, another week ends and it was full of so many things to be grateful for, even on the tough days.
