just breathe

December 2, 2013

DSC_0612Some days that is all you have.

Just the breathing bit.

Some days God’s plan for you, God’s plan for your family and for that of your friends, firmly hits you in the gut and you are left winded. All you can do is submit to the pain and just concentrate on the breathing bit.

It’s the days you go on autopilot. Things still need to be done and it’s only through sheer determination that they do. Yet, there are some who are in the deep chasms of depression and in the midst of a family crisis that they can’t do, those things just don’t get done. It takes hold of their lives totally and brings them down to their knees where there is no possible way of getting up again without help.

But with God, there is always that metaphorical silver lining.  His plans are so much better for us than we will ever realise.  He has it all worked out.  And He tells us and commands us in His Word to only worry about today, not tomorrow, as tomorrow will worry about itself.  Matthew 6:34

So just breathing is ok. If that is the only thing you can do.

And be there. For your family, for your loved ones with that hand to help them up, or maybe just a hand on their shoulder just to let them know that they are not in this alone.

Another great post. Some days it seems that God doesn’t want us to have any good times this year but I know that we don’t know everything and I am sure we will come out of this stronger then ever.

So true Tash, Im sure we’ve all had days/moments where we feel like that! Thanks for putting it into words!
I read your post, just after I stumbled on another article:(http://faithlikeamushroom.wordpress.com/2013/12/02/i-am-a-christian-and-ive-had-a-crap-year/)

    This part stood out:
There’s a poem I stumbled across recently by Carol Wimmer.
“When I say… ‘I am a Christian,’ I’m not trying to be strong.
I’m professing that I’m weak and pray for strength to carry on.”

A few verses later, it continues:
“When I say… ‘I am a Christian,’ I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartache which is why I seek His name.”

AND: …My faith means I know that God will equip me and carry me and teach me, just as he did this year.
